Glove toy out off just one odd glove.
Hi there! This is my first post in that blog and it's very exciting! So, I thought what my first post would be about and decided to show how to make a toy out of a glove. There are lots of tutorials about glove toy on-line. But this one is about how to make a toy from SINGLE glove :-) Do you have that odd glove with no matching pair? Here is time to make it alive. How about Fox?
Odd glove. I found it on a street.
Cut off middle finger, ring finger, and thumb. Don't cut the thumb too much, it will give you more neat look when you sew it up.
Sew up both holes.
Stuff the body. You may use anything you like. I prefer to put plastic beans in the bottom and the legs to make toy more stable. And something soft - wool, padding polyester - in the middle. Try to stuff your toy loose, not tightly. Otherwise, it'll be difficult to sit him down.
Cut off the cuff.
Turn inside the edge and gather it.
Make a head out of the cuff.
Turn one edge inside (the one that is not cutted).
Put over other edge.
Sew up from one tip of triangle (that will be an ear) to another. That'll be back side of the head.
Put together right and left sides of the head.
With help of my daughter :-)
Cut off unnecessary piece. You can leave it and simply turn it inside of the head.
Stuff it.
Sew it up from chin to tip of nose and back (for strength).
Make paws (arms) out of the cut fingers. Stuff with plastic beads, not too tight, otherwise they will unnaturally stick out. Make a tail out of the thumb. Don't stuff, just gather on a thread.
Gather all parts together. Stitch the ears with simple running stitch.
Choose eyes. I think, it's the most difficult part :-) Use pins to hold them on while you are choosing.
Make nose - gather piece of black fabric or use button.
The Foxy is ready. Sometimes it happens that when you used up one odd glove the missing matching glove is turns out ;-)
